AI that learns, for everyone.

Until now, only the labs that train models could make AI learn. With ACI, every person and every company has AI that learns from their own work, and owns what it learns.

For you if you want to know why ACI matters beyond the next request, for your company and for AI. · 4 min read

The last time your AI got better, your team had nothing to do with it. A lab trained a new version on its own schedule, and everyone who uses that model got the same upgrade on the same day.

Meanwhile, the people who know your work best try to teach it something every day: the accountant who knows which supplier always invoices late, the engineer who knows which alert to ignore, the support lead who knows what your customers mean when they write in. That is the intelligence that matters most to your company, and until now, the only way to teach any of it to an AI was a training run.

ACI, Adaptive Continual Intelligence, changes who can make AI learn. The accountant, the engineer and the support lead become its teachers as they work, and what it learns belongs to you. The learning moves out of a few labs and into everyone’s working day.

Until now, AI learned at the lab, in long training runs, and everyone got the same model.

Step 1 of 5: Until now

Making AI learn was a lab’s work.

To make a model learn, you needed a training pipeline, a cluster of accelerators and a team to run them. So the learning happened at the labs, and every customer got the same model, knowing the same things and nothing about any one company’s work.

Companies that wanted more turned to fine-tuning, and found the same factory in miniature. Someone prepares the data, books the accelerators, runs the training and tests the result, and what comes out is another fixed model, out of date the first time a rule changes. So the cycle starts again.

ACI makes learning part of everyday work. It learns from your results while the work happens, with no training run and no GPU, so the learning needs no lab around it. One person in their own assistant has the same ACI as a whole enterprise.

The intelligence moves to where the work is.

Teaching a model your work has always meant taking your work to the training: sending conversations and documents to a lab’s fine-tuning service, or to a cluster of your own. The learning happened wherever the accelerators were.

ACI turns that around. It learns where your work happens, in the placement you choose: Vareon Cloud, your own cloud or no cloud at all. A small team can start in Vareon Cloud. A company with its own cloud runs ACI inside its own account, and an enterprise that wants nothing to leave its network runs it there.

Wherever it runs, your data doesn’t have to leave to make your AI smarter. What ACI learns there reflects your work and no one else’s, and it is separate from what any other customer owns.

It compounds.

Learning that happens every day adds up. Each result your team confirms makes the next request like it faster, cheaper and more accurate. The longer ACI runs, the more of your work it can take on, and the more of your model’s time goes to what is new.

You can watch it happen in a single run. Over a stream of 3,000 decisions in which the rules changed five times, Duplex, which is built on ACI, went from 85.0% accuracy to 94.6% as it ran, while the cost of each decision fell by about two thirds.

That is what turns AI from a cost into an asset. Anyone can rent the same model as you tomorrow, at the same price. No one can rent what your work has taught ACI, and every month it runs, the distance between your AI and theirs grows.

The model becomes your choice, every time.

Models keep improving, and the best one for your work keeps changing: a new release, a better price, a model that suits one team better than another. When what your AI learned lives inside one model, every change means starting again.

ACI learns beside the model rather than inside it, so a change of model leaves what it learned untouched. Switch for price, for quality or for one team’s needs, and the intelligence your work has built comes along. In tests on two model families, Duplex moved from one to the other with no retraining at all.

That changes the balance of power. The labs compete to build the best model, and you can take each one as it ships. The lasting value of your AI moves from the model you rent to the intelligence you own.

Where it leads.

A model gets better when its maker trains the next one. An agent with ACI gets better every day it works, from its own results: it acts, the result comes back, ACI learns from it, and the next action starts from there.

We believe Agents will get better with a second intelligence beside them, in a recursive loop, at runtime. ACI is that second intelligence. Each result makes the next action better, and each better action brings back a better result to learn from. The loop runs inside your work, at the pace of your work, rather than inside a lab between releases.

Multiply that loop by every person, team and company. Each builds an intelligence of its own, from its own work, in the placement it chose, and owns it as it grows. The models will keep changing, and what ACI learns goes on growing beside whichever one comes next.

The most capable models will go on being trained in labs. The intelligence that matters most to you will be learned where the work is, every day, from the people who do it.
